Special "Finds..." was founded in 1995, by Brenda Thompson.

"There are two sides to every story in real estate – the owner’s side and the agent’s side.  Both have a desire to sell their listing, but both address the selling process differently.

I was an owner of unique real estate, before I became an agent.  As an owner, I realized the challenges of working with agents. An agent’s training is geared toward gathering the facts about a property and fitting them neatly within the confines of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). The problem is that not all properties are alike, especially unique properties. Unique properties require unique marketing.

The next issue, is that most agents are salespeople, not marketing experts. In fact, many have no marketing experience whatsoever.

As former Director of Marketing for the New York Stock Exchange, I took my marketing expertise and applied it to the marketing and selling of unique properties.

In 1995, I opened a Special "Finds...", devoted entirely to unusual real estate.  With offices in Asheville and Hendersonville, NC, we quickly built a reputation and won awards for our  “emotional” advertising style. Our goal was to create a mental picture for the buyer of what it was actually like to live on a property simply from a written advertisement -- -- and it worked!

I've now incorporated into SpecialFinds.com the same tools I used to successfully market and sell thousands of listings so that all Sellers and Agents can benefit."
