Wow! I can't tell you how excited I am to see that someone out there understands that cookie cutter is not for everyone. My husband and I are relocating from Baltimore to be close to family in Lenoir, NC. We'd love a small farm or home with a barn/shed/workshop and as much acreage as we can afford. Privacy is very important although we don't necessarily want to be 20 miles from a gallon of milk. Outskirts of Asheville, NC maybe? Perhaps a small town near Pisgah Natl. Forest that is convenient to Asheville? I'm just beginning to learn the in's and out's of the area but do always know the right place when I see it! The ideal place would have a view and creek or river and woods close by. Maybe too much to ask for but my past experience with buying has been that the right place may not have absolutely everything I want but always has just the right combo! Thanks!
